The Violent Femmes' 2002 re-mastered Blister in the Sun original was the chosen backdrop to a fast-paced image sequence of Portugal's most notorious summers since 1959.

For this campaign we were asked to create an 80s-inspired ballad that would boost the comic side of the "sad faces". And we think the tune does sound like a classic. Some day we should dust off all these tracks and turn them into a real song, with guitar solo's and the whole shebang.

This campaign features two masterpieces: the poem “Espantapájaros” ("Scarecrow") by Oliverio Girondo and the song “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin, in its original, 1971 version.
We're flying over the beautiful city of Montevideo, fuelled by Janis Joplin's voice, and inspired by Girondo's liberating verses.

When Tony Soprano, Daenerys Stormborn, Nucky Thompson, Carrie Bradshaw and a bunch of dragons get together in a TV ad, it would be safe to say the ad rocks bells. We were in charge of the music, and we're pretty pleased to have participated in this campaign.

Alan Bean, pilot on the Apollo XII lunar mission, was the fourth person to set foot on the moon, on 19 November 1969. Now, he is a painter, enjoying life on his ranch in Houston, Texas. Finding out that behind the character is an even nicer person makes our work all the more gratifying. We also wrote and recorded the original music for the ad. The result, in our humble opinion, is quite fantastic!

The challenge was to inject "Don't Worry Be Happy" with a generous dose of funk, and make it sound tight. With Soul Vigilantes at the controls and the support of a hi-octane brass section, the result is funkier than James Brown's socks!

James T Horn recorded this fantastic “Glory Bound Train” back in 1971 for NYC's MO DO Records.
It was one of the few things he did during his career, but this tune, only available on vinyl (you won't find it on any digital platform), is a delicious rarity we've been able to licence for this cheeky ad.

It seems to be quite hard to confess one is into reggaeton, but the truth is, this is the sound of the streets in Spain today and, why deny it, there are some pretty good tunes out there. For this Mixta campaign we had a few good laughs and licensed four bangers with that dem bow way way up there.

OK, yes, reggaeton is alright, but so is Soul. Mucho. Here we have two Multiópticas campaigns with a Soul soundtrack. That's Soul with a capital S.
For the first one we've had to pull a lot of strings. 'Glory Bound Train' is an incredible tune from the late 60s, and our mission was to license it. It was not available on anything other than some obscure 7" singles that were changing hands for considerable amounts of money, and there was no way to get in touch with the rights holders. In the end it was our friends from Daptone Records who put us on the trail of the son of the original label owner, who also plays drums on the track. Finally, as a result of this license, the song is now available on all the major download and streaming platforms. Woohoo!
And for the next one, we didn't slow down, either – we recorded a cover version with female vocals of a true dancefloor anthem, the great Allen Toussaint's 'Hand Clapping Song'. Clapyourhandssayyeah!

For this ad, Aquarius needed a truly glorious score, and who better a man for the job than Trevor Jones, composer of original soundtracks for such memorable films as "The Last Of The Mohicans", "Life of Brian", and "Dark Cristal", among many others. Recorded in Studio 1 of Abbey Road with the London Symphony Orchestra, it will be hard to find more talent together in one single space!
